Our Cafes

Each Barriques location is a bit different than the others and yet we design all of our cafes to be places that we would like to hang out in. We hope after you visit some of them, you feel this was a good idea. At a very basic level, we want people in our cafes. That may sound dumb for a business to say but there are plenty of ways other similar businesses policies tell you otherwise. We offer free wireless internet access w/o time restrictions and are constantly upgrading our technology and bandwidth to provide a better experience. We don’t herd students, or anyone else for that matter, together so they don’t ‘take up so much room’. Wherever possible we put in bigger tables to let our customers spread out and make as many power outlets available as possible. We are open long hours, because while you may like your coffee at 6:30 in the morning the other guy needs his at 8 o’clock at night. We don’t close for most holidays or if there is bad weather because it is convenient for us, but rather we realize that this is a service business and we are here for the convenience of our customers. Our original location opened in Nov 1998. Barriques Monroe St offers a wide selection of wine, spirits and beer as well as a full coffee and espresso bar serving up our fantastic tasting coffee. We serve sandwiches, salads and snacks and host weekly wine tastings on Friday & Saturday evenings. We serve wine and scotch by the glass, and beer by the tap and bottle. Opened in May 2003, Barriques in Middleton is located just off University Avenue on Cayuga Street. It is bordered by the Middleton Post Office on one side and the Middleton Fire Station on the other. This location offers a wide selection of wine, spirits and beer as well as a full coffee and espresso bar serving up our fantastic tasting coffee. We host bi-weekly wine tastings on Friday evenings and serve wine and scotch by the glass, and beer by the bottle. Free wireless internet access is available.
