Annual Big Boy Wine Tasting

Join us for our Annual Big Boy Wine Tasting at Barriques Monroe St on Friday, December 8th. We pull the corks on some of the most exclusive wines in the store for your enjoyment. Reservations are required and the event runs from 5:30 – 8:30pm and ticket holders may get started anytime. Last year’s selections included:
Mullineux “IRON” Syrah – #1 wine of the year from S. Africa and Andrea Mullineux just became winemaker of the year

Arnot-Roberts “Montecillo” Cabernet – absolute cult producer, received 97pts Vinous

Ramey Napa Cabernet – Classic old guard winemaker from the late 70’s, true CA grit.

Big Table Farm Pinot Noir – New cult producer, organic, from OR.

Zorzal “Eggo” Cabernet Franc – produced completely in neutral concrete eggs, its all about the quality of the fruit and where it is sourced from (no oak influences). 94pts

Turley “Cedarman” Zinfandel – Big knuckled zin, single vineyard and very limited access anywhere. We received only 8 bottles, split between Middleton & Monroe. 95pts

Day Zinfandel – Made by Ehren Jordan, former winemaker for Turley for 8yrs. Using some of the same contracts as his employer he has created his first zin, named after his daughter. A little head to head in the zin category.

Domaine Gros Nore Bandol – Sheer powerhouse for a Bandol producer, tangible dry tannin, black earth, black berry loaded wine. Listed in Spectators Top 100.

Foradori “Morei” – single vineyard Teroldego, fermented and aged solely in clay amphora. 94pts
